The American Prospect magazine is one of the premiere liberal publications in America. Anticipating its 15th anniversary, the publication wanted to take advantage of this milestone opportunity to raise its profile, energize its fundraising efforts and further engage local and national liberal thinkers.
Liz Page Associates branded the 15th anniversary event Mightier Than The Sword. Designed to honor liberal heroes, the event channeled the enthusiasm of local political leaders, drew celebrity participation, showcased the potency of the magazine as a national opinion-leader and honored a co-founder.
600 people attended this event co-chaired by Steve Grossman and Shanti Fry. Mightier Than The Sword honored liberal heroes Tom Glynn, Rocío Sáenz, Bill and Robbie Harris, William Julius Wilson and Victoria Reggie Kennedy and featured special recognition of Al Franken and AIR AMERICA Radio. Robert Kuttner, president and co-founder of the magazine, was feted for his dedicated service. The event raised over $600,000 to advance the mission of The American Prospect.
